Ta da! Benny's out in public!
Thanks to an almost-chance encounter with my optician's mom, who LOVED what she saw, Benny has had his first public showing. Her church, St. James Lutheran, in North Kansas City, invited me to display my work during the month of October 2011 in their community room. My friends Judy and Arielle helped me hang 40 pieces in their lovely and welcoming space.

I spoke to their group about creativity and my artistic process on Sunday, October 16 after the first service. Benny and I had so much fun! I'm looking forward to more public shows.

Presenting....Benny! (and a few friends)

I know this will not be so thrilling after I've done it six or a dozen times, but for now, hanging a show is...well, thrilling! And at the risk of boring you to tears (this feels a little like showing vacation pictures), I'm giving you a chance to see how it came together. And at least you're not trapped in my living room while I slowly leaf through the photo album.

Thanks to Arielle, who took pictures of the whole process.
